ABOUT Lace
Hello! My name is Lace Schlappi, and I am an undergraduate Psychology student at Old Dominion University! I am a U.S. Navy veteran and I served as a Master-at-Arms (Naval Police Officer). I currently reside in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and have been enjoying sharing my son's experiences in his Sociology studies at ODU.

I originally began my course of study in the Criminal Justice field after leaving military service in 2005. I desired to become an Investigator specializing in Computer Forensics and Ethical Hacking. I realized later that my heart was not in computers, but more in talking to others and helping them heal mentally from whatever they were dealing with. I saw a need for mental health care for our service men and women when processing suicides while in the Navy, and I decided that Psychology was the route that I truly wanted to travel. I began my studies and transitioned to Psychology as soon as my son was more self-sufficient.
My hobbies include cooking and baking, reading, singing, and spending time with my friends and family! I can usually be found around in the kitchen developing a new recipe or adapting one that has piqued my interest!
